This is a very rare and important half-model of a proposed design for the defense of the America's Cup of 1914. Built of white pine in five glued lifts, this model was hand carved by yacht designer Natathaniel Greene Herreshoff to a scale of one half inch to the foot, and is labeled on the reverse in Captain Nat's hand; 'Model of America's Cup Yacht, April 1913'.
