hand-colored silver bromide photograph depicting the Herreshoff built yacht
'Constitution', built for 1901 America's Cup. The image bears the
photographers blindstamp which states 'COPYRIGHT 1900 C.E. BOLLES, BROOKLYN
N.Y.' Constitution is under full sail and she is sailing at an angle towards
the viewer. The blue and red private signal with the white ball is the private
signal of August Belmont, leader of the 1901 America's Cup syndicate.
Constitution was 132 feet 9 inches LOA and 89 feet 6 inches LWL, her beam was 19
feet 1 inch. This large photograph is one of only two hand-colored images we
